What's the point of having a child if you don't plan on spending time with her? Everybody needs a break from full-time child care, but as a stay-at-home dad I'm happy to do most of the work. We have a babysitter come Tuesdays from 10 to 2 and Thursdays from 6 to 10.

The expense compounds when you consider the money we are spending outside of the house while the sitter watches the kids. Dinner out and a movie can run into a lot of money when you add the babysitter. It gets tempting to just rent a movie and order a pizza. Heck, I could afford to buy a new Roku or Apple TV to rent that movie for the same amount of money it takes to go out for an evening.

It's difficult to find a good babysitter. One who I feel very comfortable leaving my children with. My oldest has a peanut allergy and need to have an Epi-pen with her at all times. I need someone who understands food allergies and feels comfortable having to use the Epi-pen if the chance came up.

I also don't need a sitter that often, just for when my husband and I go out occasionally. That makes it difficult to find someone.

I've had two amazing sitters since having my children and I treated them very well.
