Master of suspense Wes Craven has been orchestrating horror for more than four decades. Now, you have an opportunity to get a little payback.
We want you to create a super-short horror movie 30 seconds or less on the theme of "young genius." Craven will announce a winner on the show.
The deadline to be considered for our challenge is 11:59pm ET March 2, 2014.
UPDATE: The winner of our contest is Jake Jarvi for his film ...Jake.

by Lily Nickl, starring me and my friend Katherine. I'm 12 and this is the first film I have finished! I had lots of fun making the film and aside from the fact the upstairs carpet is ruined, I would love to do it again!

A 30 second long horror film for the studio360 scary short film fest. I had only heard about the festival the morning of march second. We brainstormed the idea at lunch and shot later that evening. Special thanks to my parents and my friend Zack Bernstein for helping me put this together last minute.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish the audio for the film... but our idea of a young genius was a kid that was bullied a lot who, unfortunately for the bullies, didn't know that he had telepathic powers. Our idea for the "horror" aspect was that initially, the viewer wouldn't really know how the victim was killed, and the list of his next victims would leave mystery as to how they will be killed. We wanted to go with a sort of older style "horror" film, where there is a little bit of a mystery behind what was really happening.
A big thanks to Conner Haler, Maggie Monsrud, Emily Geary, and Holly Gambrell for helping with the filming and pre and post-production of the short.
