On my way to work this week I saw this on a telephone pole on 36th Avenue in Astoria. A sign of the times, indeed. It seems Swedish vodka makes a good pesticide.

I was attending a 50th Birthday celebration at Domenico's in Levittown recently. At each place setting was a small paper menu. The salad choices really caught my attention! Half a lifetime ago my choice would have been clear. These days, it was better to go instead with a simple Caesar salad.

This sign is on the Prospect Park Southwest side of the park. I noticed it a couple of years ago and could never find anyone who thought it was as funny as I do. So, they don't prohibit bicycling riding dogs?
