Former state Senator Pedro Espada Jr. received money from the sale of the Bronx health care clinic that he was found guilty of stealing from, according to a report.
Federal prosecutors say Espada, who was convicted for stealing from the network, received $600,000 from the liquidation of Soundview Health Clinic, according to the New York Times. They argue Espada's bail should be revoked because he was supposed to remove himself from all the clinic's operations.
Meanwhile, the IRS, and other creditors who say they were owed more than $3 million remain unpaid.
The former state Senator was found guilty in May on four counts of theft, and will be retried on other counts in November.
