When it comes to political costumes this Halloween it’s one for the birds: Big Bird, that is.
GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s comment that he would cut funding for public television sparked a Big Bird costume buying frenzy, as traditional politician masks remain on the shelves.
Mask sales usually spike during election years. But managers of several New York Halloween shops said the masks aren’t selling like in previous election years.
