Paul McCartney's Wife Nancy Shevell Steps Down From MTA Board

Nancy Shevell, wife of Paul McCartney, announced on Wednesday that she will step down from her post on MTA board.

In an emotional remarks, she described her tenure at the authority as the highlight of her 30-year career. She was appointed to the board by former Governor George Pataki  in 2001.

"In my 30-year professional career, this has been the absolute highlight for me, being able to serve on this board," Shevell said.

She did not give a reason for her resignation, but said she plans to divide her time between New York City and London.

Also stepping down from the board is Pat Foye, who is now executive director of the Port Authority.
