Look | Nets Audition for a New Voice

The Nets may be moving to Brooklyn next fall, but they've already started the hunt for a new public-address announcer — preferably one who is from Brooklyn. Dozens of people turned out to try out for the announcer's job on Friday. The NBA team said they are looking for someone with a booming, dynamic voice.

Could one of these people be the new voice for the Nets?

Rolonda Smith, 40, is from New Jersey and said she loves public speaking and hyping up a crowd. She didn't make it to the second round.

Big Mike Logan, 55, from the Bronx is an announcer on Manhattan Neighborhood Networks' "Are You A Star or Just Bizarre" and thinks his experience gives him the edge.

Karen Bernod, 45, said she's born and raised in Brooklyn and thinks that will give her an edge.

Ruben Diaz, 41, is from Connecticut and said you shouldn't judge him because he's from out of state, afterall, he was born and raised in Sunset Park.

Donald Teachout, 32, Staten Island was originally from Dyker Heights. He didn't make it to the second round and only realized he'd gone further if he used the accent he had as a kid.
