Citigroup CEO Says He Understands Wall Street Protesters

Citigroup CEO Vikram Pandit said he would meet with Wall Street protesters "anytime" and that their sentiments were understandable.
"Trust has been broken between financial institutions and the citizens of the U.S. and that it's Wall Street's job to reach out to Main Street and rebuild that trust," he said during an interview organized by Fortune.
But some Wall Street protesters didn't buy it.
"Wall Street's job is not to reach out to Main Street," said J.A. Myerson, a part of Occupy Wall Street's working media group. "Wall Street's job is to generate profits."
Myerson issued an invitation to Pandit to come down to Zuccotti Park and speak with protesters. Citibank had no additional comment.
