Four New York Times journalists held by Libya have been released to the Turkish ambassador in Tripoli, according to officials.

The journalists — Anthony Shadid, Tyler Hicks, Lynsey Addario and Stephen Farrell — were captured last week by forces loyal to Moammar Gadhafi while reporting in the eastern part of Libya.

They crossed the border into Tunisia on Monday.
