Officials have warned Westchester residents not to come in contact with the Hudson River because of a sewage spill in the wake of Tropical Storm Irene.
Heavy rain during the storm over the weekend overwhelmed the nearby North Yonkers Pump Station, dislodging a manhole and causing sewage to seep into the river.
It's unclear how much sewage spilled into the Hudson.
County officials are asking residents not to swim, boat, kayak, windsurf, or engage in other recreational activities on the water until the advisory is lifted.
An advisory was issued by the county's health department Monday.
