Police are investigating a shooting in Brooklyn that shattered the back window of a car driven by New York state Assemblyman William Boyland.
Boyland and his 7-year-old son were driving through the Brownsville section of Brooklyn around 6 p.m. Wednesday when gunfire erupted, hitting the assemblyman's car. No one was injured.
Police do not believe the assemblyman was not the intended target, and the investigation is ongoing.
Boyland, a four-term assemblyman representing the 55th Assembly District, was indicted in March. He pleaded not guilty to charges he accepted money as a consultant in exchange for using his influence to help a health care group.
