Halloween Sales Creep Upward

Retailers that traffic in orange-and-black are expected to see a boost, in these spooky economic times. The National Retail Federation estimates that nearly 150 million Americans will participate in Halloween this year, each spending, on average, $66 on costumes, candy and decorations.
That's up from $56 last year and about the same amount spent in 2008.
Half of the people surveyed plan to decorate their home or yard, and four out of 10 are planning to dress up.
The top children's costumes this year are: a princess, spider man and a witch.
