Dobbs: CNN is damaged, Stewart is really good

Tuesday, October 19, 2010 - 04:11 PM

Lou Dobbs had some sharp critiques of his former network, CNN, telling Julie Menin, "There set in, rapidly, for whatever reason, an atmosphere, a chilling atmosphere, about the application of critical judgment to the Obama administration, by management."

Dobbs went on to say CNN has "a badly damaged brand."

He praised Jon Stewart for being one of the smartest cultural critics, while saying Katie Couric has "a disaster" on her hands.

Dobbs went on to say he'd never want to anchor any of the network nightly news shows, saying the news hole is simply too small to do the job effectively.

"If you really want to have the job of convincing the American people that you can give them the most salient, insightful, penetrating, perspective on the days events, and issues, in nine minutes, it's not a job I'd want because I couldn't keep a straight face."
