The MTA says Long Island Railroad trains will be cancelled and re-routed through Friday, all due to a train derailment on Monday night.
The agency says crews are still working on a three-quarter mile section of track damaged during the incident, which is under investigation.
The MTA cancelled seven eastbound trains Tuesday evening, effecting service on the Babylon, Far Rockaway, Long Beach, Port Jefferson and Port Washington branches, and said approximately 11 trains will be canceled Wednesday morning. Those changes are likely to continue through Friday.
Commuters are urged to check mta.info for the latest information about service changes.
