Amendments Threaten to Stall Sandy Aid

House lawmakers are filing multiple amendments that have the potential to sidetrack the $50 billion Sandy relief package ahead of the House vote on Tuesday.
House members filed 70 amendments ahead of the Friday 4 p.m. deadline asking for the costs of the aid to be off-set by cuts in spending elsewhere.

Michael Grimm, like Vito Fosella before him, is an embarrassment to Staten Island. He is an opportunist, skating the edges of ethics at every turn. Does he really feel our pain, or is he milking a photo op? Bonnie, the man gets NO sympathy from me.
Michael Grimm is my Congressman and it is sad to see him so lately feel "betrayed" by his own party. He has in the past voted on bills that have betrayed his constituents and justified them on the basis of party "belief." So it is ironic to see him now hoisted on this petard by those even more right wing than he is and were not so many fellow Staten Islanders suffering so much more it might be easier to be sympathetic to his wounded feelings.
