Lincoln Leads Oscar Nominations with 12 Nods
Thursday, January 10, 2013
Lincoln, featuring Daniel Day-Lewis and directed by Stephen Spielberg, is the big winner of Oscar nominations.
The movie got 12 nods, including Best Movie, Best Director, and Best Leading Actor. Close behind was Ang Lee's Life of Pi, with 11 nominations, and Les Miserables and Silver Linings Playbook, with 8 nominations each.
In the directing category, surprisingly, neither Kathryn Bigelow, who directed Zero Dark Thirty, nor Ben Affleck, who directed Argo, nor Quentin Tarantino, who directed Django Unchained, got nominations.
The Takeaways Movie Date team, Rafer Guzman and Kristen Meinzer talk specifics about this year's picks, and their thoughts on who should have been nominated but wasn't.
