Hi folks--WNYC did stories on Clerissa shields and her struggle to box and to become a competitor. I heard those reports. Now I see that she is not listed here. Can we have a response from someone about why? Am I incorrect? If so, can someone please explain that? If not, can it be corrected?

You forgot somebody. Or is Hartford not considered to be part of this region? Possibly not, though if not, I doubt Pt Pleasant is any closer. Stublic is also a Columbia alum.
There is another Olympian from the NY area who is not mentioned in your tracking guide. She is Melissa Gonzalas of Mohegan Lake NY, a member of the field Hocky team. Mohegan Lake is in Westchester County,about one hour north of the city.
If Lia Neal's mom is from Hong Kong, isn't she biracial and not African American? I think that makes her half Asian American, so her connection to the Asian community should be made known. The way the biography is written, it almost seems her mother's place of origin is an afterthought rather than an actual part of Lia as a whole.
Dear sportsmen and sportswomen, I am giving my warmest congratulations on starting the Olympic Games of 2012 in London. So many sports, so many countries, and so many new sportsmen and sportswomen - all will have golden opportunities of showing advantages. I am also giving my heartfelt congratulations to International Sports Federations and National Olympic Committees which show their great respect for traditions of the Olympic Games of 779 BC. What about the immigrants who live in New York but will be competing for their home countries? There are at least four in track and field alone:
Jeremy Bascom (Guyana), Erison Hurtault (Dominica), Julius Mutekanga (Uganda) and Moussa Dembele (Senegal) all live in New York and train with the Central Park Track Club. Great tracker! One correction: Trampolene champ from Atlantic Highlands, NJ Steven Gluckstein is not 32. He's 22 years old.
