This year's mid-term elections saw about half as many New York City voters come out to vote as in the 2008 Presidential election.

Almost 1,146,000 city residents cast their votes, according to unofficial results from the New York City Board of elections. That compares to 2.4 million in 2008.

Democrat Andrew Cuomo won 70 percent of the vote to Republican Carl Paladino's 14 percent. Cuomo also won another seven percent of the vote on the Working Families and Independence party lines while Paladino picked up another 2 percent on the Conservative line.

 We're still waiting for statewide results, but for New York City, here are the latest results:

Among minor party candidates in New York City the biggest winners were Charles Barron of the Freedom Party and Jimmy McMillan of the Rent is Too Damn High party. Each picked up more than 1 percent.
