Prospect Park has over eight million visitors a year. On summer weekends, the park is packed with bikers, walkers, picnickers, and kite flyers. But despite the daily trash collection and a campaign that encourages cleaning up, on Monday mornings, the park is also packed with trash. Garry Osgood decided to do something about it.
Osgood belongs to the non-profit group FIDO (Fellowship In the Interest of Dogs and their Owners) and volunteers in the park picking up trash.

Yes, pick-up your garbage and keep your dog on a leash!
I loved your piece on garbage in Prospect Park. I'm a dog owner, and a member of Fido, and I can't bring my dog to the park during picnicing season because there is trash everywhere. I wish the parks dept. would do something about it. Someone should video tape what a Saturday Sunday and Monday look like in the park. It's totally disgusting, and endangers the dogs and people who love the park.
