Paterson Denounces Rumors

Monday, February 08, 2010

Governor Paterson came out swinging at the media today for advancing what he says are false allegations about extra-marital affairs and illegal drug use. A Paterson spokesperson says the governor thinks reporters and politicians have hit new lows and that the media accounts are based on unsubstantiated and anonymous accusations about his personal life while serving as governor.

Paterson specifically cited one press account that alleges he was found by the state police with a woman other than his wife in a room of the Governor's mansion as totally fabricated. Paterson says that room doesn't even exist. His comments come after a steady drumbeat of stories about disarray within his administration.
