De Blasio Collects Endorsements

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Bill de Blasio is getting a boost in his campaign for Public Advocate with an endorsement from 11 new and aspiring Democrats for City Council. Margaret Chin, who picked up the District 1 seat in this month's primary, says she looks forward to working with de Blasio.

CHIN: I mean, you look at Bill and myself, he might be a little bit taller, but I think that we see eye to eye on issues that affect working families throughout the city, throughout District 1.

REPORTER: During today's endorsement announcement on City Hall Steps, de Blasio refrained from criticizing his runoff opponent, Mark Green, but the former city comptroller is still on the attack against de Blasio.

GREEN: I think he represents the old politics of political insider deals and money and that's what I'm running against.

REPORTER: A recent Quinnipiac poll says de Blasio and Green are neck and neck going into Tuesday's runoff election.
