Before you ask... it's Greek. And, so is Johnson (via translation). It's a long story... Soterios Johnson seemed strangely drawn to the news, even as a young child.
Roger Corman: King of the B-Movies (Nothing to be Ashamed Of)

Roger Corman wore many hats in Hollywood: director, producer, impresario, and mentor to some of the greats, like Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, and Ron Howard. Later this year he will be honored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences with an honorary award marking his lifetime achievement. Anthology Film Archive has put on a small retrospective, focusing on the body of work Corman is most famous for, seven film adaptations of Edger Allan Poe, all starring Vincent Price.
On the culture page, WNYC's Rex Doane makes the case that while these films are great, Corman really deserves the award for some of his exploitation movies, and Rex joins me to discuss it.
