Lipsynch: Marathon of Tales at BAM

Nine hours of speaking and thinking about words. The marathon show "Lipsynch", explores voice, speech and language, from babies crying, to soloists singing an aria, to characters struggling with their identities.
Canadian Director Robert Le Page says sound is instrumental to human expression. And he says we shouldn't take our own voices for granted:
LEPAGE: when you study that expression it comes with its own mythologies, its own stories, and its own conflicts and it gives way to interesting theatrical situations.
REPORTER: So interesting, he's taking nine hours to explore them. "Lipsynch" is running at the Brooklyn Academy of Music as a marathon, with intermissions and a dinner-break, on weekends and in three parts on weeknights through this Sunday.
