Vaccinations in Preparation for Swine Flu

Monday, October 05, 2009

In preparation for giving swine flu vaccinations later this month, nurses are giving out free seasonal flu shots all this week at six New York City public schools. About seven hundred children are expected to get the seasonal vaccination at P.S. 46 in the Bronx, P.S. 35 in Staten Island, PS 4.0. in Brooklyn, P.S. 136 in Queens, the Children's Workshop School in Manhattan, and Saint Mark's School in Brooklyn. Within the next few weeks, parents of elementary school children will receive consent forms to sign if they want their child to get the H1N1 vaccine at school. Mayor Bloomberg says swine flu has been "virtually non-existent" in New York City so far this year.
