Tuesday, March 10, 2009
New York, NY –
Governor Corzine is outlining his doomsday budget for New Jersey....and it includes eliminating property tax rebates for New Jersey households earning more than $75,000 a year.
REPORTER: Corzine says cutting rebates will trim $500 million from the budget, and help close a $7 billion gap. He says, even with the cuts, his administration has been a friend to homeowners. ---
CORZINE: With this budget, my administration will have provided more property tax relief in 4 years than any governor in New Jersey's history. Nearly $7 billion put directly back into the pockets of home owners.
REPORTER: Rebates for senior citizens and the disabled will be preserved. The governor is presenting his budget plan to the state legislature.
