VP Biden Promotes Stimulus at Pace University

Tuesday, June 02, 2009

Vice President Joe Biden came to Pace University in Lower Manhattan today to promote the federal stimulus package. He says the package may have had little direct effect on the economy in the first 100 days since the bill's signing, but he says that's about to change.

BIDEN: You're going to see the next hundred days with some real pace on the ball, no pun intended. You are going to see this thing begin to move.

Six businessmen from around the country also spoke at the event. One of the them, Steve Chen of Crystal Window & Door in Flushing, said his company was about to lay off 100 people this winter. But because the bill includes a home improvement tax credit, Chen said business had picked up again and he has not had to lay off anybody.
