Ilya Marritz covers business for WNYC.
New York, NY –
You could think of it as a game of musical chairs involving The New York Times, Spanish language broadcaster Univision, and this station, WNYC.
When the music stops, Univision's La Kalle station will move down the radio dial to a more desirable frequency; WQXR, the classical station, will also move along the dial, and get a new owner, WNYC. But there will be no chair for The New York Times, which will sell of all of its radio holdings for a tidy $45 million.
WNYC's Ilya Marritz is here to decode the three-way radio deal.
