New York, NY –
State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli met with Mayor Bloomberg today to discuss the impact of the standstill in the State Senate on the city's economy.
DINAPOLI: Their budget is certainly a fragile one, and it's built on certain expectations of state action that has not happened. so, the more that there is uncertainty, the more that this drags out, the more vulnerable the city's budget becomes to not being in balance.
REPORTER: DiNapoli says that an end to the senate stalemate is crucial for city and state finances.
He's withholding Senators' paychecks, which were to be distributed today. Di Napoli is waiting for a judge to confirm that he has the authority to withhold the checks.
