A frustrated Governor Paterson is urging the state comptroller to come to his aid, and help him force the Senate to get to work.
PATERSON: I continue to call on Comptroller DiNapoli who is a great public servant and a dear friend. We're past conflict, we're now in crisis. Deadlines have been broken. I don't think the legislators should be paid at this time.
The comptroller's office has not responded to a request for comment. DiNapoli is a former legislator, who served in the Assembly.
Governor Paterson has ordered senators into special sessions through the July Fourth holiday weekend.
