A Taste of NYC for Inauguration
Monday, January 19, 2009
New York, NY –
Call it Bagels for Barack. A chain of local bagel stores known as Bagel Boss is making a million bagels for the presidential inauguration.
Co-owner Adam Rosner says he'll be handing out all types of bagels for free.
ROSNER: Obviously the vanilla ice cream of bagels is the plain bagel. You know plain bagels, cinnamon raisin, poppy, sesame, whole wheat, honey whole wheat bagels, our famous biayls, everything's going.
REPORTER: Rosner says the move is not political, and he just wants to bring a taste of New York to the inauguration. Danny Gejerman, another co-owner said the 14 trucks would hit the road early to make it to DC in time for the inauguration.
GEJERMAN: We know it's gonna be a tight squeeze getting into downtown Washington D.C., but we're ready, willing and able to do whatever we have to do.
REPORTER: Gejjerman says the bagels, along with appropriate quantities of cream cheeses and salads, will supply the Young Democrats and other groups holding inaugural parties.
