Christie to Run for NJ Gov

Democrats have held New Jersey's governor's office for nearly a decade, but Republican leaders believe they have someone who can break that streak.
Former federal prosecutor Chris Christie, who built a reputation as a political corruption-buster during seven years as U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, says he will seek the state's top office. But he's not the only Republican seeking the party's nomination.
Christie faces a GOP primary challenge in June from Assemblyman Rick Merkt and former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan. And at least a couple of others are seeking to raise money for the Republican primary.
Governor Corzine, who was returning to the U.S. after visiting New Jersey troops in Iraq, couldn't be reached for comment, and his office declined comment.
