Friday, February 27, 2009
New York, NY –
A chain of gourmet "on-the-go" food stores in New York City and the Hudson Valley will pay nearly $1.5 million in overtime wages owed to hundreds of employees.
State Labor Department officials say the Amish Market and its related stores in Manhattan, Queens, Croton-on-Hudson and Hyde Park failed to pay overtime wages to more than 500 workers. State officials say investigators found widespread overtime violations during unannounced visits to nine stores.
