Diaz Wins Party Support for Bronx Borough President

The Bronx Democratic Party has announced its support for Assemblyman Ruben Diaz Jr. to replace Adolfo Carrion as Borough President. Carrion is taking a new job as director of the White House Office of Urban Affairs. At a meeting held by Bronx Party leaders Saturday, Assemblyman Diaz presented himself as a candidate and received over whelming support. The date of the special election to fill the vacancy has yet to be determined.
