Dog Show Season Gets Underway at MSG
Monday, February 09, 2009
New York, NY –
The 133rd annual Westminster Kennel Club dog show opened this morning at Madison Square Garden.
And the talk at this year’s event is not just about the dogs in the competition.
It's also about dogs in the white house. Westminster Kennel Club spokesman David Frei has a message for President Obama, who has yet to choose a dog for his daughters.
FREI: My advice to him would be just find a dog you love and can be a positive part of the family, and this is going to be America's dog, no mistake about it. Let's get a dog that's friendly, can greet people, world leaders, maybe make people smile and get along together.
REPORTER: The Westminster Kennel Club dog show continues all day tomorrow.
