About 80 different organizations are planning to rally in Times square tomorrow to support the president's health care reforms. They're convening rain or shine - not only to support a public option similar to medicare, but to honor the work of Senator Kennedy who died this week. Health Care for All's Mark Hannay says its about honoring his legacy.
HANNAY: Speakers are going to be talking about what he was able to accomplish and the foundation that he lay for heath care reform in America...and now its our responsibility and an opportunity to pick up the mantle, pick up the torch and carry on his work and get it done.
Demonstrators plan to gather at sites across the city and meet at 42nd Street and 7th Avenue at 2PM.
Representatives Carolyn Maloney and Jerrold Nadler are among the scheduled speakers.
Other participants include immigrant, labor, and women's organizations.
