State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli says New York’s infrastructure is crumbling, and will need tens-of-billion of dollars over the next couple of decades. Karen DeWitt has more from Albany.

REPORTER: Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, says there are over $80 billion in unmet needs for deteriorating roads, bridges, water and sewer lines.

DINAPOLI: The report is really meant to be a wake up call in terms of our infrastructure needs.

REPORTER: The Comptroller is asking the state to make low-interest loans available to municipalities to fund some of the projects and to get more money from the federal government.

DiNapoli says the recent project under construction with federal stimulus money represents just the tip of the iceberg of what really needs to be done to prop up the state's aging infrastructure. In Albany, I'm Karen DeWitt.
