After being added to the government's list of financially troubled agencies, the U.S. Postal Service is looking for ways to save money. It's considering closing post offices around the country -- including many within New York City. Clarice Torrence, president of the New York Metro Area Postal Union, says she's worried that busy post offices, like the one in Chinatown, are in jeopardy. TORRENCE: It's unbelievable how small the station is. The line is outside, into the street. But yet they're going to take that service away from people. The Postal Regulatory Commission -- an independent government agency -- lists the possible closure or consolidation of more than 50 post offices in the city. But the U.S. Postal Service says only 15 local stations are under consideration, and no final decisions will be made until October.
