Bell Protestors Take to the Streets

Wednesday, May 07, 2008

Scores of protestors are demonstrating near busy traffic points to urge federal prosecutors to file a civil rights lawsuit against the three detectives acquitted in the fatal shooting of Sean Bell.

At the NYPD police headquarters, near the base of the Brooklyn Bridge, civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton is rallying with members of the Bell family. And about 400 to 500 people are marching down Atlantic Avenue to Adams Street in Brooklyn, toward the Manhattan Bridge.

Other demonstration sites include Varick and Houston Streets, 125th Street and Third Avenue, and 34th Street and Park Avenue.
