New York, NY –
The Whitney Biennial opens today. 81 artists were selected by a team of curators and advisors to represent the latest trends in American contemporary art. It's being held at the Whitney Museum and, for 3 weeks, at the Park Avenue Armory, where performances and installations are also open to the public. WNYC's Allison Lichter takes a look at the logistics of putting the show together, and art critic Lee Rosenbaum weighs in with her evaluation of the show overall.
