New York, NY –
President-elect Barack Obama met with 41 of the nation's governors in Philadelphia, including those from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Obama told the governors he wants their input on an economic recovery package to help their states.
OBAMA: I'm not simply asking the nation's governors to help implement our economic plan, I'm gonna be interested in you helping to draft and shape that economic plan.
REPORTER: The governors are asking Obama for at least 40 billion dollars to help pay for health care for the poor and disabled and $136 billion more for infrastructure projects, like road and bridge repairs.
