Obama Supporters Unmoved by McCain Pick

Friday, August 29, 2008

Republican John McCain's choice of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his vice presidential running mate may get some Independents and even Democrats to look again at his candidacy.

But many New Yorkers who support Barack Obama say their vote won't change. Connie Johnson, an African-American bank teller from Queens, says she just doesn't believe in McCain's politics.

JOHNSON: It could have been a black woman and I still wouldn't have voted for her so it doesn't matter that she's a woman black white green or brown.

REPORTER: In her debut appearance with McCain, Palin spoke admiringly of Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential bid...and invited voters to shatter what she called the "highest and hardest glass ceiling" by voting for the Republican ticket.
