Remembering Hilly

Hilly Krystal, the founder of the rock club CBGBs, died this past week at the age of 75. This coming Tuesday, one of CBGBs most legendary regulars, the singer Patti Smith, will headline the opening night concert at the new Music Hall of Williamsburg. All this prompted WNYC's John Schaefer to stop into the studio with his memories of Hilly and CBGBs, and to muse on the current state of the New York music scene.
