New York, NY –
The fall auction season got underway at Christie's last night with a bang -- a painting by Henri Matisse went for $33.6 million, breaking the previous auction record Matisse's work. The art market has been incredibly strong for a few years, with record breaking sales in Fall 2006 and Spring 2007. Art critic Lee Rosenbaum joined WNYC to discuss what we can expect this season.
