Tuesday, May 29, 2007

Mayor Bloomberg observed Memorial Day at several events in Queens yesterday, including 3 parades. He spoke at the Whitestone Veterans Memorial Association Parade.

BLOOMBERG: There's a very serious purpose here, and that's to remember those who since the founding of this country had been fighting and dying to let us get together.

REPORTER: Bloomberg also participated in one of the largest events in the city - the Little Neck-Douglaston Parade, which has been marching since 1873. The mayor also attended the Laurelton Memorial Day Parade on 225th Street.
