Brooklyn Waterfront Endangered

New York, NY –
A national preservation group has added Brooklyn's industrial waterfront to its list of the most endangered places in the country. The National Trust for Historic Preservation says a burst of residential development is threatening the area's industrial history.
The group wants developers to save old warehouses by turning them into residential lofts, as Soho has. The list of the 11 most endangered places also includes parts of New York and 6 other East Coast states where the federal government is looking to add power lines to the aging electricity grid.
