Tourist Politics by the Shore

Benny. It’s a derogatory slang term for tourists at the Jersey Shore. Locals use it to describe an unpleasant out-of-towner who clogs their beaches and freeways. It’s the Shore’s version of the "Bridge-and-Tunnel crowd," and a summer variation on "Town-and-Gown." As the tourist season winds to a close, some residents prepare to celebrate, and Corey Takahashi explores tensions between Shore insiders and outside visitors from North Jersey and New York.
