New York, NY –
A top Republican consultant resigns after an obscenity-laced phone call to Governor Eliot Spitzer's father was traced to his home. But Majority Leader Joe Bruno says officials should stay focused on investigating Spitzer. WNYC's Elaine Rivera reports:
REPORTER: After hiring a security firm, attorneys for real estate mogul Bernard Spitzer revealed that the call came from the Manhattan home of Roger Stone, a veteran consultant hired by Senate Republicans. But Bruno says this latest development shouldn't distract from current investigations into whether Spitzer aides used state police to spy on Bruno.

REPORTER: Stone charges that someone may have access to his home and made the call instead.
