Giuliani Delivers Keynote at Oklahoma City Memorial

Friday, April 20, 2007

Yesterday marked the 12th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing that killed 168 people. Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani gave the memorial keynote address in front of the former site of the Murrah Federal building.

REPORTER: The presidential hopeful told the crowd that events like the Virginia Tech shooting should strengthen the country's resolve to fight terrorism both at home and abroad.

GIULIANI: How do we make our schools safer? How do we do a better job of detecting the wrong signs and the wrong warning signs earlier? As we do a better job of deterring future Oklahoma City's and future September 11th's.

REPORTER: Giuliani did not address the issue of gun control, which has new life since Monday's shooting. He said the anniversary was not a day for politics.
