New York, NY –
It's the 40th birthday for the city's office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting. To celebrate city cultural officials are offering a series of public programs.
Tonight there's a screening of the famous movie "On the Waterfront" at NYU, followed by a conversation with screenwriter Budd Schulberg. The 1954 movie was shot in studios in New York and on location on the New Jersey piers.
Other programs include screenings at the Coney Island Film Festival next month, a conversation with Sopranos creator David Chase, and workshops at The Apollo Theater starting next month.
