Six NYC Hospitals to Close

A state commission, is recommending the closure or merging of six New York City area hospitals today.
REPORTER: The changes are supposed to fix the state's health care system but some residents of the doomed hospital's neighborhoods are concerned like Julius Cobb, a 13 year technician at the New York Westchester Square Medical Center in the Bronx says closing the hospital would be a great blow to the community.
COBB: Our patients come here because they love this place, this is there home. The average person in this community is around the age of 50, they have children who are 40, 30 who are born and raised in this hospital.
REPORTER: A state commission has called for the closing of 9 hospitals across the state, 5 of which are in New York City.
